Thomas M. Tull

January 26, 1953 — November 22, 2023

On November 22 2023, Thomas Michael Tull, 70, of Lewisburg, surrounded by his loving family went to be with our Lord.

He was born on January 26, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA to Margaret and George Tull the second of three children. He grew up in Bucks County, PA graduating from William Tennent High School and Penn State University in State College, PA. His bachelor’s degree was in Business Administration and his outgoing, likeable personality granted him much success in his sales career. Tom decided to stay  in the State College area because he loved the Nittany mountains and the great outdoors. This area became his home.

His natural abilities in home repairs and construction led him to pursue a lifelong career in modular homes sales and sales management. His 36-year career with modular home companies included Young American Homes, Ritz-Craft, Avis and Professional Building Systems. His efforts resulted in new home constructions from New England to Maryland along with many new product developments and process improvements.

Even though his job dictated much travel, he somehow always managed to find time for his loving wife of 39 years, Jennifer, his 5 sons, and many beloved pets. His sons: Joe, Jan, Carl, Jacob, and Darren were involved in many activities including sports, theater, and chorus. As you can imagine, their family life was filled with much activity, laughter and Jennifer’s good cooking. Even today, the 5 brothers remain best friends and are close. Tom also enjoyed being behind the grill and sharing the company of his five sons, their friends and eventually wives and grandchildren. His 9 grandchildren, whose company delighted Tom, referred to him as “Maxie”. His face always lit up in their company and he relished the time spent with them.

Tom’s hobbies included: golfing, hunting, fishing, watching football, home repairs and a life-long love of music. There was never a bad day on the golf course, especially while golfing with his sons.  One of the ways he kept in touch with old friends was through hunting which yielded an 8-point buck. Penn State and Eagles football games were always a cause for celebration, where he woke the boys up early with chants of “We are Penn State” or “Go Birds!” Tom was proud of the fact that he went to the Sugar Bowl in 1982, when Penn State defeated Georgia, to secure the National Championship. He was always a proud Penn State alumnus. His kind heart extended beyond family and friends to include others in need, particularly children. He sponsored many children’s charities across the globe and locally to address clothing and food insecurities.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer of 39 years and his 5 sons: Joseph and his wife Amy of
Lewisburg, PA and their 3 children: Landon, Lilia, and Lydia. Jan Michael and Jackie of Windom, MN and their children: Addelyn and baby Thomas. Carlton and his wife Katie of Downingtown, PA and their children: Dominik, Haven, and Behr. Jacob and his wife Lindsay of Milton, PA. Lastly, Darren and his wife Erica and their daughter, Mina of Lewisburg, PA.

Additionally, he is survived by his sisters: Margaret Chmielewski and Florence Tull both of
Williamsburg, VA. Peggy’s children include Tom’s niece, Cindi and her husband, Simon Santiago and their twin sons, Gabriel and Ethan of Rockville, MD. Tom’s nephew, Casey and his wife, Andrea Chmielewski and their children Nathan and Lily of Chesapeake, VA. We would also like to mention a special acknowledgement to cousins, Wayne and Anne McAllister of Cinnaminson, NJ and Bobby and Donna Tull of Levittown, PA.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and George Tull and brother-in-law, Louis
Chmielewski. Additionally, Jennifer’s parents, Kenneth and Joann Keller and brother-in-law, Leonard Keller.
