Verna Mae Dietrick, 88, formerly of Watsontown and Philadelphia, recently a guest of RiverWoods entered into rest at 5:50 PM on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at RiverWoods. Ms. Dietrick had been a resident of RiverView Manor since July 1998.
She was born on October 12, 1923 in Mifflinburg, the daughter of the late Ernest Russell and Cinnia Margaret (Swartz) Dietrick. After the early death of her parents she lived with her loving grandparents the late, John Franklin and Verna Ida Stuck) Swartz of Lewisburg.
Verna was a graduate of Lewisburg High School, Class of 1941.
Ms. Dietrick worked as an Executive Secetary for Engineering at Frankford Arsenal, Philadelphia, for 34 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Philadelphia, and the National Association of Federal Employees.
Surviving is one cousins-in-law; Betty Loudenslager of Mifflinburg
She was preceded in death by one aunt; Jane Swartz Kemrer, three cousins; Jane Irene Wood, Frances Becker, Richard J. Loudenslager.
Graveside services will be private in Lewisburg Cemetery.
