In Loving Memory of Yegor Babakov

Beloved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Yegor Babakov passed away peacefully into the arms of his loving Savior on August 22, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Yegor was born on February 9, 1964, in Belarus, a son of Anatoliy and Anastassia Babakov. In 1984, he moved to Kyiv, Ukraine, where he married the love of his life, Vera (Ivanova). In the summer of 1994, Yegor immigrated with his wife and children to the United States. His greatest desire was to give his children the freedom, a better life, and the opportunities for a good education that he had hoped for them.

Although he came to this country with very little, Yegor made providing for his family a priority, faithfully fulfilling the ministry God had called him to in this earthly life.

No matter how busy he was, Yegor always found time for his family. He took his children fishing and biking and brought them to various parks, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. He had a heart for connecting with people and genuinely loved them, always seeking opportunities to speak into their lives. Yegor loved the Lord and sought to live his life in service to Him. Helping others was a priority in his life, and he found great joy in doing so.

Yegor's passion for building and handcrafting wood creations was evident to friends, family, and strangers alike. During his later years, he devoted much of his time to helping his children build their homes. He also loved tending to his garden and orchard and often spoke about how, when he was gone, he wanted his children and grandchildren to enjoy the fruit from the trees he had planted.

Yegor was married to Vera for 42 years. Surviving are his beloved wife, Vera; his loving children, Yelena (Pavel) Reva, Nina (Alex) Sayevski, Svetlana (Kevin) Fedyanin, Yevgeniy (Katherine) Babakov, Mikhail (Tatyana) Babakov, Edward Babakov, Tim (Vera) Babakov, and Ben Babakov; and his beloved and cherished grandchildren, Markus, Lia, Natasha, Ella, Maya, Nathaniel, Naomi, Sarah, Jeremy, Julie, Dennis, Isaiah, Solomiya, and Inessa.

For the last four years of his life, Yegor courageously battled an aggressive cancer. Throughout those years, he continued to show strength, gratitude, and love for his family. His family was blessed to be by his side in his final moments, surrounding him with love as he peacefully went home to be with his Savior.

Yegor will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was marked by hard work, generosity, devotion to his family, faith in the Lord, and a willingness to help others. The legacy he leaves behind will continue through the family he loved so dearly, the trees he planted, the homes he helped build, and the many lives he touched.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Shady Grove Christian Fellowship. The funeral service will follow at noon at the church. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
