Paul Francis Dupuis

Paul Francis Dupuis, 88, of Mifflinburg entered peacefully into rest on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his home.

Born on December 7, 1932 in Waltham, MA, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Laurianne (Langelier) Dupuis. He was raised in nearby Watertown, MA, graduating from Watertown H.S. in 1950. On October 5, 2002, in St. Michael's, MD, he married the former Patrice Marie Locke, who survives.

He earned a BA in History in 1954 from The College of The Holy Cross, Worcester, MA, and two Masters Degrees, one from Niagara University and one from Canisius College. He did additional graduate studies at St. John's University, Queens, NY.

Paul began his career as a social studies teacher, first at Depew HS, Depew, NY and later Belmont Lake Jr. HS. Babylon, NY. He also announced athletic events for North Babylon HS. He then served as an Assistant Superintendent for the Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES III), Long Island, NY, retiring in 1987.

He was a lector at St. Joseph's Parish, Babylon, and a member of Teams of Our Lady.
He was a long time member of the North Babylon Lions Club (past president), Mifflinburg Kiwanis Club (past President), and The College of the Holy Cross Alumni Association (Class of 1954 Correspondent.) While at Holy Cross he was a hurdler, high jumper and pole vaulter.

In his retirement he volunteered at the Public Library for Union County, Lewisburg, and was a member of the Union County Historical Society. He was interested in local PA history, especially stories of Alvira, Centralia, and the Quehanna Nuclear Power Plant.

He enjoyed golfing, reading, theater, and traveling. He was a volunteer for RiverStage Theater Company, Lewisburg. He traveled extensively in his later years. Highlight trips included Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, and South Africa. He was also an avid fan of both Holy Cross athletics and Penn State Football. He was a people person who enjoyed socializing and telling jokes. You seldom saw him without a hat. He also adored all his pug dogs, and was a member of the 3M Pug Club in Sunbury.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife are three daughters, Janine Augustine (Edward) of Northport , NY, Denise Pellicane of Holbrook, NY, Christine Jadatz (Andrew) of Kings Park NY, one son, Philip Dupuis (Marjorie) of Deer Park, NY, five grandchildren, Marissa Pellicane, Joseph Pellicane, Michael Jadatz, Kyle Jadatz , Timothy Dupuis, one sister, Charlotte Dupuis Murray of Watertown, MA. He is also survived by loving sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Nestico Dupuis, a brother, Philip Dupuis, and a sister, Patricia Dupuis Casey.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 -11 AM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg. The funeral prayer service will begin at
11 AM, given by Father Mark Wilke. Due to Coronavirus protocol, masks and social distancing are requested.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
