Walter B. Jones, 88, of Lewisburg entered into rest at 7:20 am on Wednesday, on May 27, 2020 at Riverwoods.

Born on June 9, 1931 in Leacock, PA, a son of the late Edward Jones and Lena (Bowman) Jones. On June 9, 1957, he married the former Nancy M. Mummaw, who survives. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Walt worked as a welder with High Steel, Lancaster, and and earlier in his career with Farmec, Intercourse.

He was member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was active doing cooking and candy sales.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter and son-in-law, Linda S. and Jim E. Messinger of New Columbia, two grandsons Erik S. Messinger of Raleigh, NC, Cody M. Messinger serving in the U.S. Air Force, LaGrange, NC.

He was preceded in death by is son Bryan S. Jones, three brothers, Marlin, Melvin, and Ray Jones, and a two sisters, Lois Funk and Grace Hershey.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 pm on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Winfield Cemetery, with his nephew, Pastor Andrew Reich, officiating. Full Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 410 and VFW Post 1964 both of Mifflinburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Walter's memory may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church, 24 Route 304, P.O. 159 Winfield PA, 17889
